Henri A. Talon

Hi, my name is Henri Talon, I was diagnosed with primary progressive MS, in the fall of 2002 and in a wheel chair at the time, it hit me rather quickly in the beginning of summer, my family Doctor had this diagnosed as stress, the specialist in Toronto told me to go home, put my affairs in order, because in five years “my life would be less than perfect”, bed ridden, probably nursing home material. I was 34 years old, an underground Miner, with a martial arts background, and was the current President of our Volunteer Search And Rescue unit. Like I was going to listen to their crap, and like Liz, I thought I was on my own. I have an incredible support group, my wife, family and SAR group who refused my resignation, the first winter they dragged me into the bush on a toboggan on snowshoes so I could teach our yearly 3-month winter survival course to the public. I am now the current VP. I have been involved in putting a real time tracking system so I can see our searchers in the bush, it can be viewed at HTTP://aprs.fi, type in callsign VE3HOL, and you can see what we are up to. God really does have a sense of humor, I got a call from a constable who we deal with to go see an individual whom was willing to donate equipment to our unit, and He lived around the corner from me. When I met him, he asked why I was using a cane, I told him I had MS, and he loaned me his copy of “Dream healer”. I have been reading the book; I am skeptical, despite my broad beliefs, and knowledge of basic meditation, which has saved me numerous times of claustrophobic fits in a MRI machine. I am a big guy, and I don’t fit too well. So here I am typing away, I have a native ancestry; my great grandmother was left behind when the band moved to Quebec, and a French white family adopted her. I seem to have some sort of connection to the wild, I feel better when I am out there, I was raised in the wilderness, my Dad was a trapper, hunter, fisherman, ect and it has always been part of my life. I feel better and happy when I am helping people. My wife and I have been trying to catch our first lake trout, and have been going to this small lake in the middle of nowhere, A few weeks ago we saved a despondent retired nurse who wanted to do herself harm, the irony was we found her at this same lake, and we rescued her in the same boat we were using. There have been way too many coincidences in my life that has me lead to this moment. I truly believe that inside my body is the answer to cure, or minimize this disease, I believe I can access this with my mind. You basically have two choices in life you can take the abuse and start nailing the lid down on your own coffin or you can fight it tooth and nail, the people who know me have said I will always go kicking and screaming all the way. So I hope you would be kind enough to help me out. Where do I start? I just bought a Qigong DVD from a bookstore where I was looking for Dr. Chow’s (book which is no longer in print) I have enough books and so called cures by the dozen, and I have seen a lot of desperate people, and a lot of snake oil. I have been to natuapaths that the only thing they are interested in is making a living. All I know is something inside me is preventing my disease from consuming me, like it does to so many others, my Doctors can’t explain it, but I do not want to loose this fight out of ignorance. The inspiration for this letter was Liz. Thank you for your time.

How Self Empowerment and Intention has helped me in my life

I suffer from a disease. A disease that will last a lifetime if your lucky enough to live that long. It has its grips on Lawyers, Politicians, Doctors, Nurses, Bankers and the list goes on and on.  It was like a Cancer that I chose to partake of. A Cancer that I willingly put into my body that would ultimately lead to my destruction.
