In 1976 I was 23. I had a friend who died of a drug overdose in Alberta - it was methadone (synthetic heroin). A year later, I was living in Montreal, trying to transcend the grief state i was stuck in...one day, I went Christmas shopping in a blizzard. I desperately wanted to get my father some real snowshoes for Christmas. I was to get on a train home to Toronto that night so I had to go out in the blizzard if i wanted to get the snowshoes - so I went. I was plodding through hip deep snow downtown Montreal. The street had not been ploughed and the snow was coming down in heavy blankets.

I am an ex-paramedic, who has had a long history of drug addiction - essentially I was running from whom I was to become. In my sobriety it was revealed to me that I am a healer as well. Your book nearly jumped off the shelf into my hands, and just as my faith in Reiki was beginnning to subside, your story re-awakened my passion for what it is we have the ability to do. I must admit I am very envious of your incredible advanced abilities... your gift - though there is no telling where I would be had I not chosen to run in fear from my life with the help of drugs at a very young age.

Excerpt From "Intention Heals"

As proteins are dynamic in nature, they are constantly changing their conformations. Certain conformations enhance the rate of a reaction more than others which we describe as being more enzymatically active. Here’s the important part. This means that just the smallest change in structure or orientation of any part of this protein has dramatic effects on its enzymatic activity and, consequently, our health.
